Because our team has had experience working with dozens of facilities and hundreds of physicians, our expertise will dramatically shorten the time necessary to fully implement the strategies that result in physician collaboration, volume growth, profitability, and patient satisfaction.

Leadership Team
MARSHALL K. STEELE, MD - President
Dr Marshall Steele is an orthopedic surgeon, author, lecturer, consultant and CEO of Marshall Steele and Associates. From a solo practitioner in 1977 to his retirement from surgery in 2006, he developed a Musculoskeletal Center of 16 subspecialty physicians, to include joint replacement, spine, sports medicine, foot/ankle, hand, and fracture care. He was a physician to the 1994 Olympics and his sports medicine book Sideline Help (Human Kinetics 1995) is used by youth coaches far and wide. As Medical Director of the surgical initiative and operating room (1995- 2006 Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland), he founded hospital inpatient destination centers in joints and spine that have since become the busiest centers in Maryland. His patient education manual for total joint patients is used by hospitals throughout the US.
In 2007 he received the prestigious "Leadership Award" from his hospital peers and continues to serve as Director of the Joint Center. He has traveled extensively throughout the world and advised over 300 hospitals in the United States and abroad on program development and implementation. In 2005 Dr. Steele helped establish Marshall Steele and Associates with the vision of improving the healthcare experience and outcomes in a cost effective manner, by helping hospitals, staff and musculoskeletal physicians blend their talents with the needs of patients into a system of patient centric care.

JUDY JONES, MS - Vice President of Business Development
Judy was most recently the Director of Advancement for the Samueli Institute, where she was responsible for the development of healthcare partnerships to support research opportunities, communication and marketing. Before joining the Institute, she was the Vice President for Corporate Business Development for a healthcare marketing company. She also held positions as Director of Corporate Marketing for Tenet Healthcare, Director of Surgical Marketing Programs for OrNda Healthcare, and Vice President of Marketing for Health Connections, a nurse triage telemarketing center. She has also served as Associate Dean of Students at Tulane University and Associate Director of Admissions at the University of Denver. She holds a MS from Ithaca College, and a BA from the University of Michigan.

CHAD MCCLENNAN, MBA - Managing Director
Chad has over 15 years of business strategy and management consulting experience focused on customer-focused transformation. He is the Founder and President of The Customer Group whose clients include leading corporations including Goldman Sachs, Humana, Wells Fargo and Orbitz. Chad also led the Integrated Customer Solutions practice for Andersen based in Chicago. He holds a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College and a Masters in Management from Northwestern University's JL Kellogg School of Management.

MATTHEW REIGLE, MBA - Program Director
Matt brings deep service line design expertise both from within and outside the healthcare industry to MS&A. In his current position, Matt oversees the MS&A Musculoskeletal programs and has assisted over 50 hospitals with the implementation of Joint and Spine programs focused on optimal patient experiences and outcomes. Prior to joining MS&A, Matt was a Director with The Customer Group, a management consultancy, where he led numerous engagements at Fortune 200 Financial Service, Insurance and Health Care companies. Matt has extensive expertise in strategic and operational consulting as well as large scale program implementation. Matt holds his Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University and his Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University.

CRAIG WESTLING, MS, PMP - Program Director
Craig brings over 17 years of health care and corporate operations experience to his leadership role at MS&A, where he is currently responsible for the OR Efficiency and Trauma programs. Prior to joining MS&A, Craig led a broad range of operational improvement initiatives at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in areas such as orthopedics, central sterile, air rescue, and more. Before Dartmouth, Craig improved work processes as the Director of Quality Assurance at PeopleSoft, and as a Client Relations Manager at Oracle. Craig holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MS in Health Administration from New England College. Craig is also a guest lecturer on health care finance at Dartmouth Medical School, where he is earning a Master's in Public Health.

LORI BRADY, RN - Senior Consultant
Lori brings 20 years of orthopedic nursing experience to Marshall Steele & Associates. Her first 15 years of practice were spent developing expertise in caring for the orthopedic patient population. These patient experiences provided her with tremendous insights into the educational, emotional and physical needs of the surgical patient and the families who care for them. Lori has played a pivotal role in developing destination center programs for both Joint and Spine. She served as the original Joint Care Coordinator at Anne Arundel Medical Center, and most recently as the Spine Care Coordinator.

MARY ANN SWEENEY, P.T., M.S. - Senior Consultant
Mary Ann brings over 35 years as a licensed physical therapist to the MS&A team. Mary Ann began her career with the United States Air Force and served until her retirement in 1995 having achieved the rank of colonel and the position of Associate Chief of the Biomedical Sciences Corps and Chief Consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General for Physical Therapy. She is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and served on the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a member of the Orthopaedic Specialty Council where she worked on the development of an Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Practice Description, and the certification exam. Since her military retirement, she has worked for Johns Hopkins Medical Center in their homecare group and most recently at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Maryland where she led the physical therapy team of the Joint Replacement Center. Mary Ann has a BA from St. Luis University and a Masters in Management from the University of Utah.

ANDREA MASTRY - Project Manager
Andrea brings over 13 years of healthcare experience to Marshall Steele and Associates. Prior to joining MS&A Andrea held the position of Vice President of Sales for a healthcare marketing company in Florida. She has spent the past eight years assisting hospitals with service line development, with an emphasis on Joint Replacement centers and has helped hundreds of hospitals create successful orthopedic, vascular, oncology and women's service lines. Andrea earned her Bachelors of Health Science Degree from the University of Florida.

RON GAUNT, RN - Project Manager
Prior to coming to MS&A, Ron was Vice-president of a healthcare marketing company specializing in orthopedic service line development and implementation. In this role, he gained considerable insight into the experiences of hundreds of hospitals all across the nation. He also spent 10 years at Palms of Pasadena Hospital where he was the Joint Care Coordinator for the Florida Joint Replacement Center. Ron was involved in the initial development, evaluation and implementation of the Destination Center model and has been personally involved in the care of nearly 4000 joint replacement patients.
A native of Canada, Ron earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, and his RN at St. Boniface Hospital School of Nursing in Winnipeg.
